We are finally settling into winter, cool crisp mornings with a cover of frost on the ground. Fires burning all night, we have hydronic heating so after Easter the fires are lit, and they will continue to roar until end October. After that we clean and freshen up the fireplaces & cooktops ready for next winter.
Wood, wood & more firewood. Having split, stacked and chopped our winter supply during spring & summer we are finally feeling the warmth of our labour. It’s a tough gig living in Bullarto at this time of the year but it also brings so many more pleasures.
Winter in Bullarto can be magical. At 800mt above sea level, overnight temperatures are below average, and can be very windy. This creates a beautiful background for an intimate stay, with cool, crisp days, and morning and evening mists.
Autumn is traditionally the season of plenty, and Bullarto is no exception. The leaves are bathed in vibrant colours, rich earthy scents fill the air, and there are plenty of plump, sun-ripened produce in the garden.
